Good News Lutheran School
is located in Brisbane, Australia. We serve about 450 students from
Preschool through Grade 7. Through a values program, staff at Good News
Lutheran School aim to involve our students in the wider world around them.
We teach them the important concepts of empathy, compassion, cultural
awareness, volunteerism and spreading peace throughout our world. The
Global Coalition is an excellent opportunity for our students to become active
in spreading peace and cultural appreciation.
Good News Lutheran School places a strong emphasis on Information and Communication
Technologies. The ICT Manager and the eLearning Integration Teacher
oversee the Centre for Applied Innovation and eLearning. The aim of
the Centre is to enhance digital literacy amongst our students and staff.
From preschool, our students begin lessons in Information and Communication
Technologies. They learn computer skills through integrated projects,
taught in conjunction with their classroom teacher. Staff at Good
News are given professional development through an initiative called iTEC (ICT
Teacher Education Centre). Professional development focuses not only on
skills acquisition but also on pedagogical strategies for integrating ICTs
into their lessons. More information about the Centre for Applied
Innovation and eLearning can be found at http://www.eschool.net.au
