Bethlehem Opportunities Unlimited
Bethlehem Opportunities Unlimited (BOU) is a not-for-profit organization that promotes prevention education and safe, healthy activities for the youth in our community. Our ongoing purpose is to prevent drug and alcohol use and other risky behaviors among young people residing in the Town of Bethlehem or attending school in the Bethlehem Central School District.
To help meet these goals, BOU awards grants for a wide variety of initiatives targeting students, parents, younger children and the community. BOU also collaborates with other organizations such as Student Senate and Bethlehem Parks and Recreation to promote healthy youth development.
Please see below for a list of grants and activities that took place in 2012 and 2013.
Individual donations, sales of "Memo to School" pads and fundraising events support BOU efforts. "Memo to School" pads can be purchased in school offices or at any BOU event.
To learn more about BOU or join our Board, please contact Jayne Deane-White. Donations can be made by check payable to "BOU" and mailed to BOU, PO Box 492, Delmar NY 12054. BOU is a 501(c) (3) organization.

2nd Annual Bethlehem Community Spelling Bee
Form a team & join in the fun!
Bethlehem Opportunities Unlimited (BOU) is hosting its 2nd Annual Bethlehem Community Spelling Bee on Friday, April 4, 2014 at 7 p.m. in the Bethlehem Central High School Auditorium.
Teams of teachers, students and community members will compete in the “Bee” to be awarded best spellers in town. The event is a fundraiser for BOU, a non-profit organization that funds grants for prevention education and youth activities and provides educational and career resources for youth. The proceeds from the event will be used to fund safe, healthy activities for Bethlehem’s youth.
This is a friendly, team-based event and no one spells alone. Teams from local businesses, community organizations, schools and adults throughout the community are welcome. The registration fee is $100 per team. Teams are encouraged to get sponsorships to defray the registration fee. Deadline for entry is Saturday, March 22, 2014! Don’t miss out on this night of fun for the whole family! Please click here for entry forms [PDF].
Team and event sponsorships are also welcome. If you don’t enter as a team consider sponsoring a team. Sponsors will be recognized on our program, on a sponsorship board and throughout the evening. Please click here for details [PDF].
