Dear Families,

Many thanks for your help getting the children in grades 3-5 to school well rested and prepared during our NYS English Language Arts and Math testing periods. While these two assessments are now complete, our fourth graders will be taking a NYS Science test later this year with the performance test on May 30 and the written test on June 4. Our English as a Second Language students are also testing during April and June.

Glenmont School was one of the top schools in the Price Chopper Tools for Schools this year! We have won a $250 Price Chopper gift card, which the PTA will be able to use for functions, and a basket of school supplies. You earned our school 121,713 points which enabled us to place an order for recess and PE equipment. This included items such as Nerf footballs, rings, hula-hoops, squishy balls, whistles, cones, and lots and lots of sidewalk chalk. Thank you for registering your Advantage card for Glenmont School. The PTA Craft Fair and Book Fair took place last weekend with lots of wonderful items for sale. We hope you had a chance to stop by and visit both of these events.

Next Tuesday morning the band Molasses Creek will be coming to Glenmont School for a special assembly. Our music teacher Mrs. Seebode helped arrange this opportunity for our children to hear live music from this five person Bluegrass Band. Congratulations to our 5th Grade PE Leadership Award winners: Bazhif B., Jenna B., Reghan M., Jason R., and Sydney S. These students have demonstrated responsible personal and social behavior, sportsmanship, and citizenship; a desire to learn and improve. They exhibit a physically active lifestyle; demonstrate leadership and are a positive influence on peers; and have contributed toward the total school program. They will be honored at an awards ceremony at Hudson Valley Community College on Monday, May 7. Way to go, Glenmont Leaders!
